Jay Althoff

President & CEO

Jay joined PlanetTran as its President & CEO in May 2013, and brings to the company 20+ years of executive-level experience with domestic and international, public and private companies in varied industries and life stages.

Jay is passionate about building companies that provide high levels of service to their clients and to consumers. Jay spent 10 years as a key member of the executive team at Circles, a leading provider of concierge services to companies' employees and most valuable customers and a past winner of the Boston Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award. Jay held multiple roles at Circles in business and corporate development, partnerships, operations and product development, eventually serving as its Chief Strategy Officer. Jay was instrumental in helping grow Circles into the largest concierge company in North America, and then in expanding it internationally after Circles was acquired by Sodexo in 2007.

Most recently, Jay was Chief Development Officer of Zeo, a venture-backed company in the connected health space that focused on helping consumers improve their health through the use of personal sensors and smart phone apps. At Zeo, Jay was responsible for opening new sales channels and managing the relationships with Zeo's largest distribution partners, and ultimately led Zeo's product development and product management teams.

Jay graduated from Connecticut College and received his J.D. from The George Washington University. Before jumping fully to the business-building side at Circles, Jay was an investment banker at Westpac Banking Corporation, an associate focused on M&A at Ropes & Grey, and VP and General Counsel of Ekco Housewares. Jay currently serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors of Common Impact, a non-profit organization that accelerates solutions to social problems by engaging leading companies in cross-sector projects with top tier non-profits.
